Often we are challenged with Kaizens that have little to no quantifiable data. So what do we do? We don't throw in the towel, we figure out how to "capture" the best information we can in which to make the best decisions we can. Bigger challenge is figuring out how to capture the data and then knowing what to do with the data. Depending on what type of data you are looking for will determine the "Macgyvering" you will have to do to get your data, but the path you take next is pretty straightforward. Understanding a few basic steps on how to use the "non-quantifiable" data will save you some headaches and sleepless nights. Determining the improvements is also pretty important to Kaizen success, but most importantly how you sell the analysis, results and controls to your stakeholder will be what makes or breaks your Kaizen.
